Link official published DCC modules together to create a campaign that has a celestial, Flash Gordon feel.
This article is the eighth in my series putting together a zero-to-hero campaign using published Goodman Games modules. If you haven’t yet, check out the introduction to the series to get context, tips and to see 4 other Adventure Paths! You can also check out the introduction to this second series for even more tips and two more Adventure Paths!
I wanted to create an Adventure Path that started with Sisters of the Moon Furnace, and finished with Against the Atomic Overlord (which feels very Flash Gordon to me).
I haven’t had the pleasure of running any of these adventures yet, but after reading them, I really want to try this path out!
Let me know if you have run them, and if you have any tips to share!
Warning: Spoilers below for all the modules on this Adventure Path.
We begin with the the adventurers appearing on top of a mountain with no idea how they got there...
Level 0: Sisters of the Moon Furnace
This Funnel skips straight to the action:
The PCs awaken one starry night atop the highest point of a tower plateau, unaware of how they arrived.
They have been pulled in to precipitate the return of of the Moon Goddess.
Since the plan is to have them go directly into Temple Siege after this adventure, planning ahead on where you want to include the temple from that adventure in the this adventure’s map will save you headache later!
Level 1: Temple Siege
Rather than exploring a dungeon, the PCs make it into a temple, and then waves of raiders try and attack them. They need to defend themselves, and potentially find a way out!
This is a unique adventure, and I like the idea that these are ‘Ming the Merciless’ troops that have appeared on this planet to try and get something the PCs have.
Coming from Sisters of the Moon Furnace: The idea is to add the temple from this adventure to the Sisters of the Moon Furnace map, so they end up there at the end, and then this adventure immediately begins.
Level 2: Dread on Demon Crown Hill
This module features a weird set of towers created by the phlogiston disturbance of an ancient spell duel. I like the idea that perhaps something the PCs acquired in the Sisters of the Moon Furnace dungeon, combined with something found within these weird towers.
Level 3: The Star Wound of Abbadon
This adventure has the PCs crawling across a terrifying landscape, which I am imagining lies just outside the Sisters of the Moon Furnace dungeon.
Level 4: The Black Heart of Thakulon the Undying
Level 5: Against the Atomic Overlord
The final adventure! It has all led up to this!
Conclusion
This would be a heck of a rollercoaster of a campaign! I hope someone (including me) gets to run it!
